Tree Lighting Ceremony Honors Those We Miss During Holidays

Sunday night, folks in Tallahassee stopped to remember those who have passed away. They gathered at the Lighting of the Tree Ceremony that Big Bend Hospice held at the Tallahassee Mall.

Organizers say each ornament on the tree honors someone who is missed during the holidays.

"Sometimes going into the holidays, not everybody is happy and that is it acceptable and that there are groups and people that you can reach out to," says Big Bend Hospice volunteer Diane Tomasi.

The people with Big Bend Hospice say their services are available through the holidays. They also say people can add ornaments to the tree with a donation to Big Bend Hospice.
