TYRONE, Ga. (AP) -- A sexting incident at a Fayette County middle school has led to a warning for parents.
Investigators said a girl at Flat Rock Middle School took a nude photo of herself with a cell phone and sent it to a male student. The male student showed the photo to others. School officials became aware of what happened and contacted the sheriff's office. Investigators said charges were filed against both students Nov. 18.They are ages 13 and 14.
Investigator Joshua Shelton told WAGA-TV that possession of an image of a nude child can constitute a felony, and parents need to make sure their children are aware of the consequences of sending and receiving the photos.
