Professor Robert Holton, developer of the cancer drug Taxol, sued the university because he says FSU reneged on an agreement to include a molecular research center as part of the new chemistry building.
The injunction he's seeking would allow FSU to start construction of the building but would require FSU to include the research center in its architectural plans until the lawsuit is decided.
With the suit about $40 million toward the chemistry building is in jeopardy, including $30 million in donations and state matching funds.
