Thomasville Mayor Gets Assignment From Georgia Governor

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue appointed Mayor Singletary to the state's Board of Economic Development earlier this week.

Mayor Singletary says the board focuses on bringing economic development and tourism to Georgia, and says he's happy to continue his service to the peach state.

Singletary says, "It's an exciting opportunity for me to serve the Second Congressional District and serve the people of Thomasville, Thomas County, plus 30 other counties in this district."

Along with the mayor's office, Singletary's involvement in the Rose City also includes a seat on Archbold Hospital's Board of Directors.
