More than 100 people braved the cold to join the 2013 MG Walk at Tom Brown Park in Tallahassee this morning.
Teams from Tallahassee, Quincy and as far away as Alabama walked to raise money and raise awareness of Myasthenia Gravis.
Myasthenia Gravis is a neuromusular disorder with no known cure. It causes muscle weakness and even paralysis. It can impact men, women and children and it tends to impact eye muscles first
There are walks like this in 29 cities. The Tallahassee walk has raised $14,000 so far today and the final tally is expected to be higher.
The top fundraiser this year is Nicolette Hoffman, a Tallahassee teen and freshman at the University of Florida. She was diagnosed with MG at the age of 15. Her first sign that something was wrong? Double vision while riding her horse.
