U.S. Supreme Court Falling Apart?

Monday visitors to the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington were startled when chunks of marble fell from the building.

No one was injured when the pieces fell from the molding that lines the building's roofline onto the steps below.

The incident happened shortly before the justices were meeting to hear arguments and issue orders, following a two-week recess.

A group of students visiting the court at the time said they were shocked when the pieces fell.

The building, completed in 1935, is undergoing a $122 million modernization project, but it does not appear the incident was related to the work.
