A considerate move by pet owners could result in harm to your home or animal.
Best Friends Dog Rescue founder Laurie Deese says people often choose heat lamps for cold nights. However, she says rambunctious canines can easily move the lamps, causing a fire hazard for your house as well as a threat to the animal itself.
Deese says, ”I had a little terrier that was too close to the bulb, lifted it out of excitement and it actually burnt the hair on his back, so they can be dangerous, so people need to be careful of that.”
Deese says to make sure lamps are a safe distance from your pets and your house.
