It's that time of year again for one of Tallahassee's most anticipated events, the19th Annual Winter Festival and Celebration of Lights!
City employees are adding the finishing touches before the big day. More than 150,000 people are expected to take part in the festivities.
Mayor John Marks will flip the switch Saturday night, turning on 300,000 lights decorating downtown.
Bill Hehenna, City of Tallahassee Public Information Officer, says, "We do this because we serve the citizens everyday and this is our way to say thank you and welcome in the holiday season."
The festival gets started at 6:15 at City Hall with the lighting ceremony. Then at 6:45, stick around for the Jingle Bell Run followed by the Festival Parade.
