Lots of noise and flashing lights is how the 2005 Winter Festival holiday parade burst out on Monroe Street in downtown Tallahassee.

The parade delighted thousands who turned out to see the colorful annual event, particularly the kids like Micheal West, who says he really loves a good parade.

Ten-year-old parade spectator Micheal West said, "The time we can all come together and get a chance to see everybody having fun and celebrating, and you know, just to see all the cool stuff that's in the parade."

And to be able to see all the cool stuff in the parade, the young and young at heart lined up in the front to get up close and personal to the event.

Bill Spencer and family say they go to the parade every year.

"It's a great way to start off the Christmas season, coming down here with the lights and the parade and bring the kids down and just have a good time with the family. It's a great event put on by the city and we really enjoy it every year," Spencer says.

WCTV enjoys it every year too. One of our meteorologists gets really excited about the festival and shares some holiday cheer.

Lots of families and their children were enjoying the parade, especially when they started throwing out candy and other prizes.

There were over 130 entries in the holiday parade this year. This is the 19th year of Tallahassee's Winter Festival.
