The Christmas Connection is gearing up for a busy weekend as donations begin rolling in for more than 800 needy families.
One Tallahassee woman is counting on folks' generosity for a brighter holiday. The 31-year-old has sickle cell anemia. She has painful bouts with that, is blind in one eye, and is losing sight in the other. And she's dealing with it all alone.
The woman isn't asking for much: clothes in a women's large, food for a holiday meal with all the trimmings, and some basic toiletries and cleaning supplies. Her one indulgence: she'd like a DVD player to watch and listen to her beloved movies.
If you can help her, she is case #59, or any other struggling family, call the donation center at 575-1500 or log on to thechristmasconnection.org
