The men and women who respond first to community crises get well deserved honors! It's the annual First Responders Appreciation Luncheon at the Leon County Fairgrounds.
First responders from Leon and several surrounding counties were honored with lunch and an inspirational message from Florida State Attorney Willie Meggs.
Leon County Sheriff Larry Campbell says this gives them a breather from everyday crises.
Larry Campbell says, "In our business, we may be in Tallahassee today, in Quincy tomorrow or Monticello, and everybody has to mesh together as a single unit. This is a unity thing as well as an appreciation, thank-you to first responders for all that you do for us."
This is the fourth year Champion Chevrolet has sponsored the event with the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
