Last year there were more than 1,000 alcohol-related fatalities on Florida's roadways. What's worse is records show an increase during the holiday season.
Thirty-six-year-old Ed Williams is living proof of how devastating drunk driving can be. At the age of 18 he was hit head-on by an intoxicated driver. He spent two months in ICU and underwent 12 surgeries.
Williams says, "It's something that will affect me for the rest of my life. I'm no longer able to run. I deal with daily pain, arthritic."
But Williams did prove doctors wrong when they told him he would never walk again. He now partners with MADD to encourage people to not drink and drive.
