Young Professionals Buy Gifts for the Needy

A group of young professionals in Tallahassee are out on the town shopping, but not for themselves.

The non-profit organization Tallahassee 25 took along wish lists, purchasing holiday gifts for needy families.

Volunteers say they have a personal connection with many of the recipients who they volunteer for year round. This weekend they'll wrap the gifts and then deliver them just in time for the holidays.

"I know some people adopt a family, but you never get to see them actually open gifts where in this case you get to, so it is nice and it makes it more enjoyable," said volunteer Stacey Speer.

The gifts will go to Girls and Boys Town, HOPE Community, CCYS and the Refuge House.
