They tried to flee, but didn't get far. Ten people are busted for a suspected cockfighting ring.
Sheriff's deputies came to the Taylor County home expecting to break up a party. Instead, it was a cockfight.
Arrested were Cecil and David Habbord, Lance Foskey, R.J. Blair, Luis Roca, Michael Paul, James Terry, Heather Arieux, the homeowner Donald Blair, and Jerrett Williams.
Deputies say they saw blood and feathers on the ground at the residence. Animal control was called in, and they found several tools used for rooster fighting. Four roosters and two hens were seized by animal control. All ten people arrested were charged with animal cruelty.
All ten people arrested, except the owner of the home, Donald Blair, were also charged with resisting arrest without violence.
