Disappearing Driver Turns Himself In

A man accused of fleeing the scene of a crash on Monday has turned himself in.

Leon County sheriff's deputies say a gold Mazda fled the scene of an accident at the corner of Tharpe and Capital Circle Northwest.

Deputies say the disappearing driver saw the story on WCTV and decided to turn himself in Tuesday night.

SGT Chris Chase, LCSO spokesman, says, "He turned himself in to the Leon County Jail after seeing the broadcast with the details of the crash and vehicle description. Once he was there, detectives and deputies interviewed him about the crash and he said he did in fact leave the scene and the reason he left is because he didn't have insurance."

Thirty-two-year-old Robert Fusilier of Quincy is accused of fleeing the scene of an accident, violating the right of way and more.

In his booking photo, you can see the gash above his eye. The driver of the pick-up truck also suffered minor injuries.
