A legal battle over a new chemistry building at FSU went to court Monday morning.
Florida State asked circuit court Judge Janet Ferris to dismiss the lawsuit filed by professor Robert Holton's MDS Research Foundation.
The dispute involves the building of a new chemistry facility, which Holton's group says is no longer in line with a prior agreement.
There is close to $44 million riding on this case.
"We're happy that the case is proceeding, and hopefully it will proceed along its track and at the same time, we'll continue our attempts to resolve it amicably if we can," says Tom Brooks, the attorney for the MDS Research Foundation.
Judge Ferris has ordered both parties to seek mediation in the case.
