Two Arrested in Separate Drug Investigations

On Friday, June 7, 2013, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office served two search warrants and arrested two men in separate illegal drug investigations.

The first search warrant was served at 1446 Knoxville Lane and culminated a two month long investigation.

Throughout the course of the investigation, undercover detectives purchased crack cocaine from John Paul Scott, 33. During a search of the residence deputies seized ammunition, a shotgun, a stolen rifle and 3 handguns. Deputies also seized crack cocaine and marijuana that was packaged for sell.

Scott is a convicted felon, career criminal, and documented gang member who is currently out of jail on
bond for weapons charges. A certified Gang Specialist with LCSO participated in this investigation and validated Scott's gang status. Scott was taken to the Leon County Jail.

Charges: Sell of Cocaine (2 counts), Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Grand Theft of a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon by a Career Criminal.

Later on Friday, LCSO’s Vice Unit and officials from the Madison County / Taylor County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at 2232 Timberwood Circle North. The warrant was obtained after
undercover detectives purchased marijuana from John Elliot Lewis, 24.

During the search, officials seized 3 pounds of marijuana and $1700.00 of cash. Lewis was taken to the Leon County Jail.

Charges: Sell of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Maintaining a Drug House.
