Here’s a warning for pet owners who feed their dogs and cats a certain type of food.
Diamond Pet Foods is recalling some of their pet food. It could contain a potentially fatal toxin that could harm animals.
The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services says the chemical is a byproduct of a fungal growth on corn.
"They wanted to make sure that in an abundance of caution that all the pet food produced during that time frame at that particular facility was not used," said Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services spokesperson, Terence McElroy.
The products in question have a best-by date on the back of the packaging that reads March 1 through June 11, 2007. It also has a letter "G" in the date code.
