Working on Christmas Day

Those in medicine, emergency response and law enforcement are often called to duty on the holidays.

People in the restaurant and maintenance industries also say they clock in on major holidays. Working folks say it's just a part of their chosen profession.

Debrownya Corner, a registered nurse at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, says, "Certain jobs like nursing, you know, you can't expect to stay home, you know. You just got to have a good attitude about it and look at it as you're helping someone."

OFC Shaun Smith of the Tallahassee Police Department says, "It's fairly slow on Christmas Day, so there's not much activity going on, but I get to spend time with my squad mates, so that's good."

It goes without saying that the news business pushes on every single day of the year, regardless of holidays or weather.
