HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) -- Nan Rich easily got more out of not speaking at the Florida Democrats' annual fundraising dinner than she would have if she was given the five minutes she wanted to address party activists.

The former state senator has been campaigning for governor for a year and is receiving more attention now than ever thanks to the Democrats' snub and the Republican Party of Florida.

The state GOP latched onto the fact that the Florida Democratic Party wasn't giving Rich a speaking role and made a widespread effort to get her heard.

The media noticed, and soon Rich's campaign was receiving more publicity than it's had in months.
