A man suspected of robbing three banks in our area, two in Tallahassee and one in Bainbridge, is now under arrest in Panama City.
Forty-eight-year-old William Brantley is actually accused of seven bank robberies in three states in the past year, including the July hold-up of the Florida Commerce Credit Union on Maclay Boulevard, and an October hold-up at the Florida Commerce Credit Union on Capital Circle Northwest.
Brantley's spree ended after a bank robbery in Panama City.
SGT Mark Omerod with the Tallahassee Police Department says, "Once we got a picture, some of the video from that robbery, we were able to look at it and the video we had for the robberies that occurred here and figured out, yes, that is truly the person we are looking for."
Brantley used to live in Tallahassee, and police say the Ford Explorer he was driving when he was caught was also stolen in the capital city. Federal charges are expected.
