A Tallahassee grief counseling center that serves a lot of children is getting a big boost.
Lee's Place helps more than 100 people a year cope with loss, whether it's due to death, divorce or even natural disaster. The Blue Foundation, which is an arm of Blue Cross, Blue Shield, has given Lee's Place a $99,000 grant to keep up its comforting work.
Gail McBride, Board President of Lee's Place, says, "The important thing about Lee's Place and the really important thing about this grant is that many, many of our clients at Lee's Place can only afford to pay a small amount or nothing and we never turn away a client. The client pays on a sliding scale based on what they can afford."
McBride says the grant money will be used primarily to help children of divorce, and trauma victims.
