Tallahassee's city manager is proposing that the city remove all cattle and eliminate the use of fertilizer on the spray field by June.
There are ongoing scientific studies on whether the spray field is the source of rising nitrate levels in the Wakulla Springs.
However, in response to concern from the Wakulla County commission and citizens, City Manager Anita Favors Thompson said, “Tallahassee is willing to remove the cattle and fertilizer as soon as possible.”
The issue will be brought up during next week's city commission meeting.
