The blood drive sponsored by WCTV is helping the Southeastern Community Blood Center keep its blood supply stable.
The blood center serves north Florida and south Georgia. Organizers say after the holiday season it's especially important for people to continue donating blood.
Nancy Conyers with SCBC says, "Around the holidays with accidents and wrecks that happen you know it'll be here today, the blood supply will be up and then it’s gone. It doesn't take much for it to disappear."
Conyers says folks can donate blood every eight weeks as long as they weigh more than 110 pounds.
She says donors are always welcome; no appointment needed.
