Possible Piece of Space Shuttle Discovered in South Georgia

It seemed out of place; at least that is what some local officials say. That's why the mysterious object, that could be a part of the space shuttle Columbia, made its way into the Thomas County Sheriff's Office evidence room. A piece of burnt plastic was discovered Wednesday on a plantation in south Thomas county. The name has not been released.

Investigators say the object appeared out of place on the plantation's pristine landscaping, a reason why NASA asked them to collect the object as evidence.

It is still not known whether the object is in fact, from the shuttle Columbia.

It will be kept in the evidence room, until NASA officials decide to pick it up.
