Friday night was one of the coldest nights of the season. At The Shelter in downtown Tallahassee, volunteers are gearing up for a packed house.
Staff say they average 190 to 200 people a night when the temperatures dip below freezing, and with the forecast in the upper 20's, they say supplies may run thin.
"You can volunteer your time, you can donate money, supplies; you'll be helping the people who are really needy. These people have nothing," said shelter supervisor Neal Pierce.
If you'd like to help out with supplies, you can call The Shelter at 850- 224-9055.
