The Tallahassee chapter of "Code Pink: Women for Peace" held a special ceremony in front of the Florida state Capitol Saturday night.
They read out the name of each American soldier who has been listed as a casualty of the war in Iraq.
"Part of our mission today is to bring honor and memory to all the soldiers who have died, especially the 97 Florida soldiers that we've lost," says Lydia Vickers, a member of Code Pink: Women for Peace.
Saturday night's soldier recognition ceremony began at 3 o'clock in the afternoon and continued until 8 o'clock.
Organizers say their next step is to ask government officials to bring home the Florida National Guard soldiers before the next hurricane season begins.
