Construction continues at Florida State University, and today they broke ground on a new Turnbull Center.
The new conference building will be situated on the corner of Copeland and Pensacola Street, where about 50 people gathered for the ceremony this morning.
The building will replace the old Turnbull Center, in honor of Augustus B. Turnbull, the third. Bill Lindner, director of FSU's Academic and Professional Program Services says, "It's about fifty-thousand square feet so we have large auditoriums, a lot of break-out rooms, computer labs with the latest technology. . .so it's a full service conference center."
The building is expected to be finished in the fall of 2009, conveniently located next to the new parking garage.
