A local grandmother of five is setting a pretty good example for her family.
Fifty-five-year-old Janet Egbert will graduate from Keiser College as the valedictorian Friday.
After injuring her knee while volunteering at ground zero, Egbert was unable to continue her nursing career, so she decided to go back to school.
Egbert says, "Do it. Don't hesitate, because no matter how old you are, the knowledge you gain from school is the most rewarding thing you could ever have in life."
Academic achievement apparently runs in the family. Just last year, Egbert's daughter also graduated from Keiser as the valedictorian. Congratulations to them both!
