Striking out for a good cause, bowlers hit the lanes Saturday afternoon to raise money for Big Bend Cares.
Big Bend Cares is an agency that covers an eight-county area and raises money to provide education plus comprehensive support to people infected with or affected by HIV and AIDS.
Organizers say this is the second year for this event.
Tyaonna Wickers with Big Bend Cares says, "A fun fundraising event brings about, it's entertaining but it's also a good way to spread awareness. We have our table set up with information, brochures, condoms, just to get the word out about HIV and AIDS."
DJ Demp, MC Lyte and Friends showed off their skills at the lanes. Organizers say fun and fundraising go hand in hand.
