An early morning accident knocks off electricity to more than 1,000 homes on the northeast side of Tallahassee.
The city says a car hit a power pole around 12:20 a.m. Friday morning and knocked out power for a little over an hour.
Police say an unidentified woman was at the wheel when her car hit the power pole in the 2300 block of Killearn Center Boulevard.
They say when they arrived, power lines were down around the car and the woman was so intoxicated she did not know she had caused the wreck. She was arrested for DUI and taken to the county jail.
