Life Sentence Upheld in Rape Case

Florida's First District Court of Appeals has upheld multiple life sentences for a Tallahassee man found guilty of a violent rape.

Last spring, a judge sent Miguel Sierra to prison for life for lying in wait at a Tallahassee woman's home, tying her to her bed with dog leashes and raping her repeatedly.

Sierra promptly appealed.

The First District Court of Appeals recently upheld Sierra's life sentence and just last week deemed it "case closed." Sierra's attorney says he will not file for a rehearing.
