Tallahassee's 21st Annual "Arbor Day Tree Planting" adds more than 160 trees to one of Tallahassee's newest parks, Lake Elberta Park.
Give the trees a few more years and you can bet they'll add to the character of Florida's capital city. It's what got this program started two decades ago.
Ann Bidlingmaier, co-founder of Arbor-Green, said, "We started about 20 years ago when the Sha of Iran came through Tallahassee and really liked Tallahassee's tree character and gave us $10,000 to invest in tree planting."
Volunteers got the program going, and five years ago the City of Tallahassee took over.
