Officers say Jerome Scott of Quincy fled into the woods after a DOT officer pulled him over on I-10 for a child restraint violation.
Authorities say Scott had no driver's license and gave the officer a false name. Local agencies responded to help track him down.
"We brought in our drug interdiction team and K-9, and they did a track from the interstate all the way over here. We're just north of Northwest Passage Road off of Northwest Capital Circle where we apprehended the subject," explained SGT William Griesbaum of the Florida Highway Patrol.
A K-9 unit found the suspect about a mile from his car. Scott was arrested for driving with a suspended, resisting an officer without violence and giving a false name to an officer.
Scott had warrants from Gadsden County for failure to pay child support and violation of probation.
