Florida State University sophomore Jorge Pedraza and several other students held a benefit for Project Medishare.
The program delivers medical care and supplies to extremely poor parts of Haiti.
While the group certainly hopes to raise funds for the supplies, the event is about education.
Jorge Pedraza says, "The biggest thing is to raise awareness, let people know what's going on in Haiti and to spark the interest inside of Florida State, TCC, and FAMU Universities to see that there's a place where student and their universities can make an impact."
The benefit included a showing of the Maya Angelou narrated documentary "Once There Was a Country."
