"If they burned that trailer up, there’s no telling what they’ll do next," said Patricia Swann, who lives in The Meadows Trailer Park off Roberts Avenue.
Swann was afraid to go to bed after fire investigators say an arsonist lit the house next door to her on fire.
“That’s really scary ‘cause it makes you scared to live in the neighborhood ‘cause you think if they did their house, they’ll do yours next. You don’t know who it is, so it's real scary.”
Early Thursday morning when Swann and her two kids were asleep, the mobile home went up in flames. Fire investigators say someone poured a flammable liquid on the inside then set it ablaze.
“Our investigators have taken debris samples to the state fire marshal’s laboratory to determine exactly what type of material was used to start the fire," said Tallahassee Fire Department CAPT John Gatlin.
The Tallahassee Fire Department is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
"Right now we’re conducting interviews and soliciting help from the public.”
Swann hopes someone will have clues to help get the arsonist off the street.
“I just hope they find out whoever did this because it ain’t no joke. This is for real. You got people living in this neighborhood and we don’t need this kind of stuff going on in this neighborhood.”
If you have information that could help fire investigators solve this arson, you’re urged to call right away. The number is 850-891-FIRE.
