Sunday afternoon hundreds of college students lined up outside Doak Campbell stadium to trek around campus in a 5-K run.
All of the proceeds from every dance marathon event benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
"Fundraising's been a little difficult with all the national disasters and donor fatigue. It's been a little difficult, but it just doesn't make a difference. It's all about the money we're going to be able to donate to the Children's Miracle Network," explains Vinny Bocchino, dance marathon director.
The main event of dance marathon is a non-stop dance that begins next Saturday morning and continues for 32 hours.
Dancers are supposed to stay on their feet for that entire time.
