Money Tree

George W. Munroe Elementary school officials have erected an FCAT money tree.

Faculty and parents have been donating money as an incentive to help students score high marks on the FCAT.

Teachers say the students have the potential to do well on test, and they're hoping the money will give them that extra boost.

Bonnie Blitch, the principal, says, "We want to find a way to motivate them to do their best on the test, so we have a money tree, and for every student that does well they'll get a $20 bill, and the $20 bill is growing on the money tree."

School officials will be doling out the money when they get the test results back from the Department of Education. In the meantime, they'll gladly accept donations for the money tree.
