Shooting in the South Side

There was gunfire in the south side early Sunday morning. The incident happened at the intersection of Holton and Wies Street.

Tallahassee police received a call a little before three Saturday morning. Twenty-five-year-old Shamarron Kelly was lying in the driveway at 2502 Holton Street.

TPD says Kelly was shot in the shoulder and managed to walk down the street before he collapsed. This is the second shooting incident this weekend, but police say the shootings are not linked.

LT Ken Bergstrom with the Tallahassee Police Department says, "No relation at all that we're aware of. What we're told by the victim is it was a drive-by shooting. According to the story we got it, would have been random."

TPD says Kelly was shot in the shoulder. The bullet traveled through his chest, just barely missing his lung and heart, a gun shot wound that could have easily killed him.

At this time TPD has no description of the shooter. If you have any information on this case you can call the Tallahassee Police Department at 850-891-4200.
