William Randall, Senior was charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty and 19 counts of fighting or baiting animals.
Last January, 22 dogs were confiscated from a home in the Sawdust community, where investigators say Randall was operating the dog fighting ring.
Monday, in a Gadsden County courtroom, Randall pled no contest to those charges. The judge sentenced him to six months in jail and three years probation.
Randall will head back to court on May 3 to face charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
