Leon County's supervisor of elections will go before county commissioners Tuesday night to update them on his plan of action after missing the deadline to purchase voting equipment for people with disabilities.
Ion Sancho says the deadline was missed because one company refused to sell to him.
He stands by his belief that there is not enough equipment out there that he thinks will secure the Leon County vote. Missing the deadline means the county may have to return more than a $500,000 in federal grants.
Ion Sancho, Leon County Supervisor of Elections, said, 'The issue is essentially how fast we can get the necessary tests done to make sure we can be complaint by September."
The Florida Department of State says Leon is the only county in Florida not complying with the regulation
