Leon County Chairman Bill Proctor says he has now complied with the state of Florida’s disclosure rules after paying fines totaling $3,000.
Proctor admits he did not turn in his income disclosure statements to the Florida commission on ethics, two years in a row.
It's a requirement for county commissioners.
When asked why he declined to do so, Proctor told Eyewitness News, he was following the advice of an attorney regarding another financial issue.
Proctor said he submitted his financial disclosures on Friday and paid the $3,000 in fines Monday.
He says that now puts him in compliance with the state's disclosure rules.
