Rainy weather did not dampen the spirits of the Black History Celebration in Wakulla County, Saturday.
Handfuls descended on Hudson Park in Crawfordville to celebrate their heritage.
The gathering was the first of it's kind in the community. The event began with singing and praying. People in attendance took turns speaking about the importance of remembering their roots.
"That's why I'm out here," said Wille B. Donelson, a Black History Advocate.
