There is new land on the market in Thomas County. The news comes during a county commission meeting.
The 118 acres located near the Thomasville Municipal Airport is county and city owned land.
The Payroll Development Authority requested to purchase this land.
It is unclear what the land will be used for, but the PDA does help recruit outside businesses to the Rose City.
Mike Stephenson, the Thomas County manager, says, "The city has been doing a lot of utility expansions out there, they've run a large water line out to that area, partly to reinforce their water system here, but serve as a perspective industrial park there."
Stephenson says the county commission voted to give PDA the option to purchase the land over the next five years.
