The Thomas County funded building is 17,000 square feet and will be home to three different agencies: Thomas County EMS, Thomas County Fire Administration, and the Thomasville Fire Department.
The building will also house the emergency operations center for storms and disasters.
Melburn B. Kelly, EMS Director for Thomas County, says, "This will be a kind of universal meeting place for city and county government to come together when they need to work closely in disaster situations. It's very important to have a unified place for everybody to come."
Kelly says the building will have new equipment and state of the art technology. He says the county hopes to move in by this summer.
