Arbor Day, Thomasville

The city of Thomasville and the Garden Club chose the Community Resource Center as the site for ceremony.

The director says the tree will be planted in the center's garden, a place that is special to the center and the children it serves.

Liz Crockett, the director of the Thomasville Community Resource Center, says, "We feel very honored. We feel it's very appropriate because our garden is our signature program here. Our children are a lot in the garden and our theme at Thomasville Community Resource Center is 'come grow with us.'"

Crockett says the Live Oak will honor Dr. Earl Williams, a youth advocate in the community.
