Soulful singer Ray Charles will be honored in a big way in the small town of Greenville this weekend. His daughter is in town to help pay tribute to a man who touched so many lives with his music.
We caught up with Sheila Robinson Friday morning in Greenville where her father Ray Charles was born. Robinson honored her father during a concert Friday night at North Florida Community College in Madison. She's also in town Saturday for the unveiling of her father's statue.
"You could just see him absorbing the love from the audience and from the people, so I know he would be overwhelmed. You would just see it illuminating from him all over," says Robinson.
Saturday morning at 10 o'clock the official unveiling of the statute will take place at Hayes Park in Greenville.
Robinson will be performing "America the Beautiful."
