The Sheriff's Office is donating $25,000 to the Big Bend Crime Stoppers program.

Sheriff Larry Campbell says this is a partnership of more than two decades.

Campbell says tips from Crime Stoppers have helped solve unreported and unsolved crimes, and the money will pay off.

"It's an investment in keeping the crime rate down and we've been keeping the crime rate down, I believe the last nine years in a row, and it's programs like Crime Stoppers and Allen Stucks and the work that he does that have helped us do the job that we do everyday."

The Crime Stoppers director says some of the money will be used for more advertising to get the program's message out on a wider scale.
