The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus in town, but are getting a not-so-warm welcome for The Greatest Show on Earth.
Calling it the "cruelest show on earth," animal rights activists protest outside the Civic Center.
PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and SAVE, Saving Animals Via Education, were there with picket signs. They say training animals for the circus is abuse.
"Whether someone has four legs or two; whether it's human, an elephant, or tiger or chimpanzee the quality of their suffering and their perception of pain and their misery is all the same. Anyone or anything suffering is wrong,” says Will Sherman with SAVE of Tallahassee.
The organizations are also spreading their message by handing out leaflets. The circus will be in Tallahassee through Sunday.
