Both fires sparked up off Highway 20 on the west side of Leon County.
One fire consumed two acres of land and started when a resident lost control of burning rubbish.
The other fire burned five acres of woods coming within a few feet of homes.
"The conditions are so dry that I would strongly recommend that nobody do any burning whatsoever in their yards of leaves, trash. It's too dry. You can't predict what the weather, what the winds are going to do," cautions LT Judi Davison of the Tallahassee Fire Department.
The cause of the five-acre fire is still under investigation.
